Early Childhood
Group Music Classes

Alleyways Music Group Classes are an extracurricular program offered within The Gardner School of Warrenville.

Musical experiences in early childhood have been found to accelerate brain development, particularly in the areas of language acquisition and reading skills. Alleyways Music Academy offers the below programs in a preschool setting. (Note: These group classes are currently only offered to families enrolled in The Gardner School of Warrenville looking to add music to their child’s curriculum.)

Tunes for Tots (toddler - age 3)
The ”Tunes for Tots” program provides a creative space for young children to learn music through play! These 30 minute mixed-age classes occur weekly at your child’s school. *Tuition is billed monthly at $20/class.

Each group class features:

  • Ear training & aural skill development through tonal patterns

  • Rhythm & tempo reinforcement through hand motions and tapping

  • Exploration of various instruments including drums, bells, rhythm sticks, shakers, and more!

  • Large motor activities that encourage movement and imagination

Should your child go on to learn an instrument, exposure to the above concepts have shown to significantly ease the learning process with a well developed ear and internalized sense of tempo!

Intro to Keyboard (age 3.5 - 5)
In this introduction to the keyboard, students will learn the basics of note reading including a variety of rhythms and music symbols, finger numbers, and the music alphabet while learning how to play various songs in both hands! These 30 minute mixed-age classes occur weekly at your child’s school. *Tuition is billed monthly at $20/class.
